It’s the day when the English poet, Tennyson reminds us of hope smiling from the threshold of the year to come. It’s also the day when the acclaimed Brazilian writer, Paulo Coelho puts in his two cents worth. “One day or day one. You decide.” Coelho adds, “Elegance is achieved when all that is superfluous has been discarded and the human being discovers simplicity…” It’s simple. Out with the unnecessary so the necessary can breathe.
The Day of Resolution is often met with little resolve. Aspirational can mean unattainable. As you start afresh, don’t make it harder than it has to be. Extend yourself an olive branch as you turn over a new leaf in the book you’ll live this year.
Today. Day one or one day? You decide.
